Our surfacing division is highly respected and has a great track record for delivering a high standard of work. This role has become available in our team for a proactive, energetic, passionate and hardworking Surfacing Foreperson to come join our crew based in New Plymouth where you'll be working across the district.

About the role:

The team will be looking at you to lead them as you work alongside the supervisor in carrying out toolbox meetings, running crew brief plans and working together with completing reseals and first coats. Your duties will involve working as a chip runner, operating machinery as well as labouring duties. So, if you enjoy spending your days outdoors and on your feet then this could be the position for you. In this role you will be providing leadership by planning, providing direction and controlling activities whilst working alongside the team in the field ensuring that work is completed to the satisfaction of our customers and that all Zero Harm and production targets are met.

You will have the opportunity to travel across the North and South Island perfecting your craft within the crew during our busy periods.

About you:

You will bring with you experience leading a crew along with your industry experience. You'll easily be able to deal with unexpected events and provide direction to your team.

You'll couple this with:
  • You will ideally come from a chip sealing background with experience operating as a Foreperson
  • Minimum Class 2 full New Zealand Driver's licence
  • High standard of workmanship and quality focus
  • Excellent communication skills - with the ability to communicate with stakeholders.
