Maintenance Controller

Work Location: Perth

Roster: 4D4N8R

Reporting to the Mine Control Supervisor, the Maintenance Mine Controller is accountable for the interaction with Mine Site Operations in supporting the decision-making process of the Caterpillar Minestar System and cost reduction initiatives in line with site KPI's. The Maintenance Mine Controller will also provide leadership and direction to the various equipment operators to ensure that equipment is performing within the recommended guidelines.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Managing all mobile plant maintenance calls and asking appropriate questions in order to diagnose machine faults
  • Ensuring all breakdowns are reported and repaired in a timely manner, and prioritised in conjunction with mining priorities
  • Notifying appropriate workshop supervisors of any machine faults, and communicating any breakdown delays
  • Monitoring Tyre Sense and TKPH, and communicating any rising temperatures with the Minestar Controller to reduce the likelihood of downtime
  • Coordinating the movement of service crews
  • Accurately entering all data into workshop shift log on Microsoft Access and entering all maintenance related delays/ descriptions
  • Reporting any constraints that may affect mining meeting targets

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Significant experience working in a mining mobile maintenance role
  • Experience working with Fleet Management systems such as Minestar or similar
  • Knowledge of mine workplace safety requirements and procedure
  • Ability to make effective, intuitive decisions
  • Good interpersonal skills; determined, decisive, enthusiastic, honest
