Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Signals Engineer to design and implement complex signaling solutions for major rail and transit projects. This person will join the Infrastructure group in our Rail Systems team in the Mississauga / Markham location.

Our knowledge of infrastructure includes aviation, highways and bridges, planning and advisory services, ports, rail and transit, tunnels, and water. Want to be part of the creation and construction of our cities? Then the infrastructure team is for you!

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Develop detailed signal design for transit and heavy rail clients in both relay-based and microprocessor-based signal systems;
• Prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, studies, and designs for projects.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Compile and calculate a variety of engineering data.
• Gather and maintain specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.
• Assist in proposals preparation and estimates in accordance with customer specifications
• Perform first level detailed check of team members’ designs (Route & Aspects, Electrical, and Schematic)

You bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Control Systems, Electromechanical Engineering or related field, from an accredited university;
• 6+ years of signaling design experience within a consultancy environment;
• Registered Professional Engineer with PEO or eligible;
• Experience in design of rail & transit systems such signaling & train control is preferred;
• Knowledge of signaling principles, circuits, components and the implications of working with other disciplines.
