We are seeking a motivated and engaging Superintendent Fixed Plant to lead our site-based fixed plant operations and maintenance team at Hope Downs 1. This role is a great opportunity for individuals with strong leadership capability to optimise plant performance by managing the work cycles of multiple discipline areas.

Reporting to the Manager Maintenance and Plant, you will be:
  • Leading, motivating and developing a team of supervisors and asset management professionals
  • Continuously identifying and driving improvements in safety, people, cash, partnership and/or growth
  • Ensuring optimum utilisation and productivity of plant, labour and equipment
  • Implementing and sustaining the critical risk management
  • Executing and reviewing of maintenance activities
  • Managing a budget and promoting a high level of cost awareness
  • Defining staffing requirements and development needs
  • Fostering a workplace that people enjoy working in by modelling "The way we work" at all times

What you'll bring
  • A passion and enthusiasm to continually improve safety, production and cost
  • Demonstrated people leader who will influence, motivate and be confident in effectively leading, mentoring and coaching team members as well as interfacing with senior leaders
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar CMMS and exposure to managing and setting of budgets
  • Strong decision-making capability along with ability to work autonomously
  • Relevant trade qualification or engineering degree
  • Previous experience within a process engineering / mineral processing environment
  • A current 'C' class driver's license

Located 100km north-west of Newman, Hope Downs 1 offers an 8/6 roster and is a joint venture managed and operated by Rio Tinto, working in conjunction with nearby site Hope Downs 4. Hope Downs 1 provides exceptional career growth and opportunities and the village provides excellent facilities for its FIFO workers.

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
