About our Client
Rio Tinto operates the world's largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. About the Role
An ongoing opportunity exists for an experienced mine site laboratory operator at one of Rio Tintoâs mine sites.
Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, you will be physically testing (crushing, grinding, weighing, sieving) iron ore / base metals, conducting manual preparation using rotary sample dividers and other associated duties within a laboratory environment. This role requires a lot of flexibility and the need to work 12.5 hour shifts day and night.
Skills & Experience
Experience as a Laboratory Operator in a mining environment
Experience with computers systems such as Starlims, SAP, FDMS, TIKS, SuperQ and ChemAlert
Technical and analytical experience in flux fusion, Leco TGA, XRF, robotic sampling with Herzog equipment, manual sample preparation using RSDâs (Rotary Sample Dividers), Rocklabs crusher/splitter, moisture and sizingâs analysis
Current Australian 'C' class driver licence
HR Drivers Licence (preferred)
SAP Experience (preferred)
Previous lab experience
Great computer skills
