Position summary
Enaex Australia (formally Downer Blasting Services) is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to provide support to the CFO to complete the accounting and financial activities of the company, and to ensure the company fulfills its reporting obligations to external parties such as investors, creditors, and tax authorities.

Enaex Australia has more than 20 years of experience in blasting services in both open-pit and underground mining, operating nationally across Australia, where it provides services across multiple commodities including iron ore, gold and coal. The company services the market with a fleet of over 50 explosives delivery systems, five state-of-the-art emulsion-manufacturing facilities and a 120-strong workforce. Enaex Australia is part of Enaex S.A. ("Enaex"), a subsidiary of the Sigdo Koppers Group. Enaex is a world leader in the production of industrial-grade ammonium nitrate and the most important provider of integrated rock fragmentation services in Chile and Latin America and has a broad international presence operating and exporting explosives to more than 40 countries globally.

This is a permanent opportunity based at our offices in Milton, Qld.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

In this role you will be responsible for:
  • Provide support and service to the CFO and relevant stakeholders as required.
  • Raise monthly revenue invoices for all applicable Sites.
  • Financial projects, particularly in the area of reporting and internal control reviews.
  • Review of inventory and debtor systems, procedures and transactions.
  • Preparing accurate, timely month end and relevant financial reports and analysis;
  • Reconciliation of GL accounts;
  • Liaising with auditors and coordinating half year and full year reporting
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Implementation, management and compliance of new accounting standards
  • Oversight and management of in-house tax functions:
    • Monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS)
    • Employee Taxes (Single touch payroll)
    • Payroll Tax
    • Workcover
    • Superannuation
  • Oversight and management of outsourced Tax functions;
    • Tax effect accounting work to allow the financial statements to be completed and audited;
    • Preparation of annual tax return including the International Dealings Schedule and Reportable Tax Position (SGE);
    • Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax return;
    • Preparation of the Australian local file for the company, containing Short Form, Part A and B of the file and lodge the document with the ATO.
  • Preparation of accurate and timely consolidated monthly reports and accounts required by the parent entity;
  • Preparation of full year and half year work papers to support the statutory financial reports and management reporting packs required by the parent entity;
  • Management of payroll function (in conjunction with HR);
  • Treasury functions including cashflow forecasting, operating cash management, capital expenditure, hedge management, debt facilities;
  • Management of corporate service accounts and cost allocations (including telephone, IT vendors, insurance);
  • Capital spend management, including capital approvals process, capital WIP and fixed asset register maintenance;
  • Participating in the month end process, including monthly standing journals, accounts receivable reconciliations, RNV reconciliations and review;
  • Assisting with financial projects as needed, particularly in the areas of reporting, internal control reviews, accounting policy development;
  • Assistance with budgeting and quarterly forecasting process

ABOUT YOU:

To be successful in this role you will require the following:
  • Tertiary Qualification in Accounting, with minimum of 5 years technical experience (post professional qualifications)
  • CA / CPA Qualified
  • Experience within a Big 4 or 2 nd Tier Chartered organisation and/or large ASX or multinational enterprise preferred
  • Familiarity with the new accounting standards (e.g. AASB 15 and AASB 16)
  • Major ERP experience preferred (JDE, SAP, Oracle) plus Intermediate /Advanced Excel
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and complete tasks with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, initiative and ability to work as part of a team
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders from varying professional backgrounds
  • Ability to adapt to an evolving environment with the resilience to work with challenges
