Position summary
Under the newly awarded Telstra Field Operations (TFO) contract, Downer will provide services including network asset relocations (ARCW), wideband business services (WB), facilities design and construction activities including Tele-power and building upgrades; and a continuation of the 5G mobile rollout. These activities will be delivered across New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Downer has an additional opportunity to provide some of the ARCW works in QLD & WA.

We have a newly created opportunity for a Supervisor to join our Fixed Networks Division based out of our office in Gepps Cross, SA. This is a field-based role in a fast paced, high pressure environment which will see you responsible for supervising our construction partners, ensuring delivery of ticket of work and project works are on-time and to schedule as well as monitoring quality. Previous experience in a similar role combined with a collaborative leadership style will ensure your success in this position.

ABOUT YOU
  • Supervisory experience within the working in Telstra's Networks
  • Telecommunications and construction background with a good understanding of Wideband and Recoverable Works programs
  • Safety and quality focused with a solid understanding of optical fibre cables within a "live" network environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume Ticket of Work environment with constantly changing and competing priorities along with an in depth understanding of cost variations and schedule of rates
  • Civil construction background
  • Knowledge of scoping projects and managing projects from start to close out
  • Ability to activate dig permits and ensure all due diligence has been followed with Construction Partners
  • Proficient in MS suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to coach and mentor a team
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and people management skills
  • Ability to deliver on time, to plan and to a high standard
