Position summary
Downer Rollingstock Services (RSS) is committed to providing the highest quality of Rollingstock & Overhaul services for both the local Queensland and wider Australian markets. We are currently seeking an experienced RAMS Engineer.
About the role:
The Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety Engineer will support the delivery of Queensland Rail projects within the Rail Fusion Alliance (RFA). This position is a lead role in ensuring that all works are completed with documented evidences in accordance with the relevant contract, design, drawings, standards and specifications. The RAMS Engineer will also ensure that the works are executed in accordance with relevant WHS and environmental requirements.
Role requirements:

• Bachelor of Engineering ( registered with Engineers Australia)
• Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) - mandatory
• Master of Maintenance and Reliability
• Promote risk-based systems assurance culture for rollingstock.
• Manage the risk-based systems assurance process
• Conduct hazard identification risk assessments and workshops
• Review and comment on Systems Assurance submissions and analyses
• Establish and maintain positive customer, supplier and internal relationships
• Knowledge of quality assurance and investigations
• Strong emphasis on innovation and best practice
• Articulate complex concepts to all levels of the business
• An analytical approach to root cause, cost-benefit, safety and risk

Specific desired skills and experience:

• Rail, aerospace, defence or similar heavy industry environment
• Familiarity with Queensland Rail standards and work practice
