Do you have experience managing complex engineering projects? Then Doe Run’s Engineering Manager might be a good opportunity for you! The Engineering Manager will provide engineering and technical support to operations and provide leadership to project management team. This position is located at the Buick Resource Recycling Facility in the beautiful Mark Twain National Forest.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in project design, planning, coordination and implementation.
  • Create project plans and coordinate with outside vendors to ensure timely project completion within planned budget.
  • Provide technical support to operations.
  • Responsible for record retention of paperwork, shop manuals, drawings, and schematics.
  • Aid operations by monitoring on-line data feeds.
  • Assist Doe Run personnel with engineering solutions and generating options to questions and/or concerns from operating sites.
  • Partner with vendors on projects inclusive of resource management, project planning and execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years of hands on engineering experience.
  • Experience in the design, planning and commissioning of projects.
  • Experience in managing complex engineering projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical preferred).
  • Professional Engineer Certification (PE) is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office preferred (Project, Visio, Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Exposure to AutoCad a plus.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to include high attention to detail.
  • Solid ability to identify root cause, propose recommendations and make good business decisions.
  • Understanding of regulatory, federal and state compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of key engineering principles.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to work in outdoor weather conditions, wear PPE including but not limited to respirator, eye protection, hearing protection, and foot protection.
  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. 
  • Frequently required to work in extreme heat (non-weather).
  • Occasionally required to work in confined spaces, wet, humid conditions (non-weather), vibration, working at heights of 4’ or more with fall protection. 
  • Occasionally exposed to loud noise.
  • Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more, 20 inches or less, three-dimensional vision-ability to judge distance and space relationships.
  • Precise hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, rarely up to 50 pounds.
