THE ROLE

The Electrical Mining Supervisor Trainer is responsible for training and developing the skills of electrical maintenance technicians and requires acting according to the highest standards. The Electrical Mining Supervisor Trainer will provide specialized training in initial entry skills, before moving on to advanced electrical skills. Also, will be the expert in combining technical-based classroom training with on-the-job training. He will also be an advisor for mining and maintenance operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for training, providing support, advising and creating mine electrical maintenance personnel.
  • Assess training needs for maintenance team electricians and create training programs.
  • Prepare training materials for electricians, conduct classroom trainings, and provide mentoring in the field.
  • Detect and solve problems / failures in different equipment and systems
  • Develop and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, reduce operating costs, and achieve higher availability while optimizing the use of labor and materials.
  • Ensure that necessary steps are taken to educate employees on hazards and provide adequate training to reduce or eliminate risk in the workplace, including occupational diseases, and protect to service employees.
  • Create work orders (complete with a description of how the work should be done as well as generate a pick list of parts) and close work orders (noting all aspects of the completed work)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Red Seal Electrician or equivalent certification
  • 5 years of experience in the underground mining industry
  • Experience as an electrical trainer, or foreman
  • Experience with underground mining equipment
  • Experience in maintenance of electric motors, generators, mine control panels, pumps, industrial storage batteries, radio communication, leaky feeder, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
