Our team is growing and we are looking for an Environmental Engineer emphasizing in Air Quality and Waste to join the team at our Phoenix operation. The successful candidate will ensure that all air compliance and permitting obligations associated with the Title V air permit (and other air quality operating permits) are addressed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage developed compliance systems for all air and waste related programs and permits.
  • Frequent communication with regulators, site personnel, Corporate Resources, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the maintenance of existing air compliance systems, and the development of new systems to ensure compliance at all times.
  • Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to handle a heavy and complex workload
  • Assist operations personnel in achieving their objectives
  • Assist with training of NGM employees, contractors, and others
  • Oversee inspections of operations to ensure permit compliance accompanying regulatory inspectors on periodic inspections of work areas on and off the mine site
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field required
  • Familiarity with the Clean Air Act and associated regulations required
  • Knowledge of the Title V and other Nevada air permitting regulationspreferred
  • Three (3) to five (5) years direct experience in environmental compliance, with a minimum of one (1) year in a mining environment, including regulatory agency interactions required
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills required
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously required
  • Familiarity with compliance systems and ISO 14001 preferred

About Nevada Gold Mines

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.

The massive mining operation comprises 8 mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities that produced an estimated 4 million ounces of gold in 2018.
