FFI is leading Fortescue's decarbonisation and growth agendas and developing a portfolio of projects centred on the production of renewable hydrogen, ammonia, minerals and other value-added products. Title: HD Fitter - Green Fleet Development

Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)

Roster: 4 days on, 4 night on and 8 days off

In support of Fortescue's strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet

Based at our new Hazelmere R&D facility, we are presently looking for experienced HD fitters with strong experience working on electric dump trucks

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Providing safe, effective and timely modifications and mechanical maintenance to our mining equipment in association with Green Fleet projects
  • Diagnostics & fault finding
  • Workshop duties as required
  • Work in conjunction with other trade and engineering disciplines to achieve 100% schedule compliance.
  • Ensure all activities undertaken are carried out in accordance with company safety policy and procedures
  • To provide any continuous improvement suggestions and to operate in a cost-effective manner at all times

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Australian recognised trade certificate - Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent
  • Extensive heavy mobile mining equipment experience, Komatsu 930E and Terex 4400 haul trucks experience highly regarded
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience on a mine site (highly desirable)
  • High Risk Licences - EWP, Forklift, Working at Heights (desirable)
  • Dogging and rigging ticket (desirable)
  • Heavy Rigid Driver's License (desirable)
