Title: High Voltage Electrician - Green Fleet Development

Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)

Roster: 4 days on, 4 night on and 8 days off

In support of Fortescue's strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet

Based at our new Hazelmere R&D facility, we are presently looking for experienced HV Electricians with strong experience working on electric dump trucks

Key accountabilities will include:

  • The carrying out of maintenance and modifications required on high voltage electric drive haul trucks and other mining equipment under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and to the appropriate Australian and company standards and procedures
  • Diagnostics & Fault Finding
  • Workshop duties as required
  • Work in conjunction with other trade and engineering disciplines to achieve 100% schedule compliance.
  • Ensure all activities undertaken are carried out in accordance with company safety policy and procedures
  • To provide any continuous improvement suggestions and to operate in a cost-effective manner at all times

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Australian recognised trade certificate - Cert III in Electrotechnology
  • West Australian A class Electrical licence
  • HV Switching ticket
  • Extensive electrical heavy mobile equipment experience, specifically Komatsu 930E and Terex 4400 haul trucks
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience on a mine site (highly desirable)
  • High Risk Licences - EWP, Forklift, Working at Heights (desirable)
  • Dogging and rigging ticket (desirable)
  • Heavy Rigid Driver's License (desirable)
