Title: Automotive Electrician - Green Fleet Development

Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)

Roster: 4 days on, 4 night on and 8 days off

In support of Fortescue's strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet

Based out our new Hazelmere R&D facility, we are presently looking for experienced Automotive Electricians to join the Green Fleet Development maintenance team

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Providing safe, effective and timely electrical repairs and modifications to our mining equipment in association with Green Fleet projects
  • Diagnostics & fault finding
  • Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer-based systems
  • Workshop duties as required
  • Work in conjunction with other trade and engineering disciplines to achieve 100% schedule compliance.
  • Ensure all activities undertaken are carried out in accordance with company safety policy and procedures
  • To provide any continuous improvement suggestions and to operate in a cost-effective manner at all times

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Australia recognised trade certificate - Cert III in Automotive Electrical Technology
  • Extensive experience on a range of heavy mining equipment including haul trucks, drills, diggers, dozers etc.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting heavy equipment on board electronic and remote monitoring systems
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience on a mine site (highly desirable)
  • High Risk Licences - EWP, Forklift, Working at Heights (desirable)
  • Dogging and rigging ticket (desirable)
  • Heavy Rigid Driver's License (desirable)
