Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role

Position Reports To: Supply Chain Manager

Position Overview

The Supply Chain Superintendent ensures products and services are available to the Operation so that it can produce to the plan. This includes procurement, contracts management, inventory control and replenishment, warehousing and product integrity. Development and coaching team to sustainable and elevated performance.

The Supply Chain Supervisor will work closely with the Manager and is responsible for leading the supply chain teams in efforts to meet the operational requirements in terms of safety, environment, schedule, cost, policies and procedures. Ensure Supply Chain team complies with all Policies, Procedures, adherence to Supply Chain Execution Plan. Lead the development of Supply Chain policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Supply Chain team and set policies and standards to ensure a high level of service is delivered to stakeholders at the Rainy River Mine, including:
  • Procurement practices are within Company standards to ensure fairness and competitiveness which result in the lowest total cost
  • Overall responsibility for Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Contracts Management and Working Capital / Inventory Management to ensure effective supply chain and logistics functions
  • Collaborate with internal Supervisors to achieve best in class KPI’s.
  • Set priorities for Supply Chain team and build to execute on the annual site plan
  • Establish workflow processes
  • Ensure Supply Chain is maximizing Supply and Contract Agreement compliance
  • Lead and or assist with Preparation of RFP negotiations
  • Lead and or assist with negotiations for Supply and Contract Agreements
  • Assist with Reports based on KPI’s
  • Monitor spend analysis
  • Supplier selection
  • Drive contract and supplier performance management
  • Other duties may be assigned from time to time
  • Complete evaluations of Supply Chain team


Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Commerce and Business Administration
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience leading in a Supervisor capacity within an industrial environment, preferably with a mining background
  • Strong, demonstrated leadership capabilities including the ability to lead with vision, set an example, stimulate intellectually, be innovative, excellent communicator.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and business acumen
  • Demonstrated success in building trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the local community, indigenous groups, employees, colleagues and service providers/contractors
  • Knowledge and experience working with business computer system, understanding of integration issues and how all the pieces (accounting, purchasing, inventory control, equipment control, payroll, costing) all fit together.
  • Strong Accounting Processes – Understanding IFRS, SOX, Reconciliation
  • Strong Computer literacy: knowledge of SAP ERP system
