The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Supervisor, Maintenance (HDET Scheduler) for Operational Readiness and Copper Cliff Mine South (CCMS).

The purpose of this role is to continuously improve the work team (crew) performance through effective use of established processes and procedures at various plants or mines within the Sudbury area. As a Supervisor, Maintenance (Electrical) you may be accountable for planning, scheduling and/or supervising a crew.

Although previous experience in mining or an industrial setting is considered an asset, we also appreciate that diversity of thought comes from our differences – and that’s what makes us great!

Operational Readiness (Project):

Key Accountabilities as a Planner During Operational Readiness
  • Develop and or update task lists using word and SAP.
  • Generate Bill of Materials (BOM’s).
  • Conduct field audits to verify asset condition and locations.
  • Support the project and OR team with AMF processes.
  • Support the OR team with JHA and Procedure development.
  • Update the “SAP Asset Setup Status” excel spreadsheet.
  • Upload documents and information to NAFiling system equipment folders.
  • Support CCM – North with SAP initiatives.

Normal Operations:

Key Accountabilities as a Supervisor, Maintenance (HDET)
  • Hold crew accountable for area Safety behaviour, housekeeping, teamwork and professionalism.
  • Supervise and coordinate the “maintenance work” components of the Asset Management Framework.
  • Ensure planned work orders are closed with completion codes and comments for future analysis.
  • Carryout tasks while on shift on behalf of the Superintendent and as such assists the Superintendent in achieving the overall area targets for his/her area of accountability.
  • Work within budget, guidelines and standards and execute Safety and Maintenance Plans as established by the Superintendent.
  • Work with the crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.
  • Work collaterally and cross functionally, with colleagues, engineering, production, and services to achieve the objectives of the Maintenance Department.

Key Accountabilities as a Schedular During Normal Operations
  • Purpose - Schedule maintenance activities according to the needs of the asset, optimizing the resources utilization.
  • Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Update the work centers adding the adjustments for standard capacity and adjusted capacity (intervals and shifts)
  • Schedule the asset maintenance activities considering the status coding for readiness, criticality and required end dates.
  • Schedule and accomplish the risk management process, according to the level of risk and its mitigation actions.
  • Schedule in Prometheus the activities covering at least: pre-analysis of personnel and material risks, environmental impacts, activities risk analysis if necessary, labour (internal and external), interferences, blockages, support services and equipment operating condition (inactive or running)
  • Schedule orders only with available resources according to the defined prioritization. However, it is mandatory to prioritize activities for critical assets and critical controls in the schedule process
  • Coordinate the (W-1, W, W+1, D+1) scheduling meetings, in the established frequency, involving at least inspection, planning, provisioning, operation, execution and health and safety representative and, if necessary, reliability and maintenance engineering, asset management and CAPEX management
  • Schedule in SAP all the necessary alternate equipment and special tools (internal and external), solving the deviations that might happen
  • Close the scheduling (Prometheus) registering the deviations and additional services in SAP (W-1)
  • Establish the service level agreements (SLA) together with areas of interface, including at least: Execution and Operation: delivering and returning of equipment for maintenance, covering at least: cleaning, positioning, communication of the request and release of the asset, asset trial, returning of asset to operation.
  • Schedule W+1 in SAP (Prometheus), considering resources interferences, blockages and optimizations
  • Manage the scheduler’s backlog daily;

Education:
  • The ideal candidate will have a College diploma in the specific discipline.
  • Engineering degree in a related or specific discipline.
  • Government trade license in the specific discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or relevant computer skills and experience with SAP or other computer-based maintenance management systems would be an asset.

Experience:
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading crews.

Shift Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday, 8 hours dayshift
