Coordinate, control, review and oversee all mechanical maintenance activities in designated mill operation area (e.g., N/S Mill, Crusher, SAG Mill, HPGR Expansion, etc.), in order to support operations in increasing production rate and make sure that all maintenance support are performed in a timely manner with minimized incident rate and within targeted operating budget in accordance to company safety policies and existing SOPs.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Review weekly downtime schedule and adjustment provided by subordinator for mill mechanical areas, in order to ensure that downtime does not exceed target for each year's budget.
  • Control and review monthly material and operating cost reports, in order to monitor all costs incurred and ensure that they are within allocated operating budget annually.
  • Control and monitor unscheduled maintenance downtime for designated area (e.g., N/S Crusher, N/S Mill, SAG Mill, and HPGR Expansion, etc.) in order to make sure that actual downtime do not exceed maximum targeted downtime, whereby each area's targeted downtime differ.
  • Provide direction to subordinates with regards to taking responsibility towards their work, areas of work, manpower, and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in efforts to maintain manpower at no less than 95% and no greater than 100%.
  • Direct subordinates with regards to guidelines on environmental compliance for solid and liquid waste disposal and importance of environmental safety, in order to ensure that all areas of work follow company and government environmental regulations.
  • Monitor monthly Supervisory Accountability Audit Report to ensure that all area owners have a 90% compliance rate.
  • Monitor and review monthly incident report based on supervisor investigation reports, in order to make sure that all area owners have a below target reportable incident rate (0.22%).
  • Control major shut down in order to ensure that shutdown is performed in the most effective and efficient manner.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership of the Sag Mill Maintenance Group, developing and implementing global best practices.
  • Liaises with FMI corporate and other global experts to develop and implement world class deep mine maintenance procedures.

  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least ten (10) years of working experience of which includes five (5) years in Mechanical Maintenance as chief mechanic and five (5) years in Mill Concentrating or Diploma/Technical High School in the same field with a minimum of ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of experience in the same environment.
    • Detailed technical expertise in a large-scale mineral processing operation that consists of SAG Mills, Ball Mills, Cone Crushers, Flotation Cells, Thickeners and Pumps.
    • Experience in developing and managing budgets of approximately $20M USD annually.
    • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
    • Strong project and people management skills.
    • Strong mechanical analysis skills.
    • Good communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to motivate counterparts and subordinates actively.
    • Advanced computer skills.
    • Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.
