Health and Safety Coordinator Surface and Underground Mine Operations

Company is seeking a full time Health and Safety Coordinator for their underground mines located in Colorado.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

•Prepare and update Mine Emergency Evacuation Plans (MEE) and Emergency Response and Preparedness Plans (ERP). Lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT)

•Assist in the preparation of Mine Ventilation Plans (MVP)

•Prepare Injury Prevention Programs (IPP) and Worker Health Monitoring Programs (WHP), including hearing conservation and respiratory protection. Evaluate programs effectiveness and improve as needed

•Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOP); Rock bolts pull tests; DPM policy (Diesel); Fire extinguisher checks; First aid and wash station kits update; proper signage postage.

•Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Active Hazard Assessment (AHA) and Matrix Assessment (MA),

•Understand and implement 30 CFR

•Enforce safety policies, guidelines and loss prevention procedures

•Define and Implement employee orientation; emergency response training; and coordination of training programs (new hire, experience miner, task training) in accordance with Federal and Local Regulations (MSHA, OSHA) and company directives. Maintain Worker Training Records and ensure timely reporting in accordance with the Law.

•Review accidents and incidents for completeness with findings and identify corrective actions

•Assist Senior Management with the identification of possible losses; evaluate the risk in such loss exposure; develop and implement plans to correct or prevent a loss and audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness

•Provide daily guidance and direction in HS programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach to work implementation

•Ensure that company employees and contractor personnel working on the property work in compliance with company policies and safety requirements

•Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected. Work and communicate with MSHA

Experience:

•Minimum 5 years' experience in a Health and Safety role

•Minimum 5 years' experience with MSHA

•Minimum 3 years underground mining experience

Education/Certification/Licensure:

•Certified MSHA Trainer

•First Aid/CPR/AED certified

•Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) desired

•Valid Driver's License and a good driving record are required to drive company vehicles on property.

Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 depending on experience
