Summary

The person in this position will work as part of multidisciplinary project teams providing industrial and municipal clients with design engineering and related technical expertise for water and wastewater systems and treatment facilities. Industrial clients include those in the mining, fuels and/or natural gas, power generation, and manufacturing industries. Responsibilities may include providing project management; performing alternatives analyses; completing engineering calculations and analyses; selecting equipment and components; writing technical reports; preparing design drawings and specifications; developing design details; preparing cost estimates and bid packages; and providing construction administration services. The work may involve short-term, out-of-town assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering from an accredited university
  • 8+ years of related work experience; candidate’s desire and demonstrated ability to provide value and assistance on multidisciplinary projects that may not include water or wastewater components will also be considered
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification, or ability to obtain within one year
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work cooperatively in a project team environment that encourages self-initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to develop sound solutions to complex problems
  • Demonstrated project organization and project management skills
  • Flexible working style as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working on projects directly related to job responsibilities described above at a consulting engineering or industrial workplace
  • Master’s degree in environmental or chemical engineering from an accredited university
  • Experience working directly with clients
  • Experience serving as engineer of record on project(s) from conceptual design through construction


NOTE: Some work locations will feature the rough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment. Safety training will be provided prior to being given work assignments on these sites. Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program at the request of specific clients.
