Operations near and far

Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area's occupied by winery's, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Employees have access to the area's wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector with a modern well-equipped regional hospital, excellent educational facilities, shopping, large selection of sport and recreation options, transport and other services such as childcare.

Who we're looking for

After successfully recruiting 2 Senior Business Analyst's, we are now on the hunt for a third to join our growing team!

Reporting to the Superintendent - Commercial, the Senior Business Analyst will be accountable for providing financial and commercial support to the site operations and management teams, with a key focus on business planning, month end reporting, cost analysis, forecasting, performance reporting and capital management.

With exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills you will be able to effectively convey financial and commercial concepts across all level of the business and play a key role in supporting sound commercial and operational decision making.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Monthly site cost closure and reporting processes.
  • Preparation and critical review of operating and capital budgets/forecasts, in compliance with forecast and reporting schedules.
  • Site and Departmental cost and performance reporting.
  • Effective analysis and insights to site commercial and operational stakeholders.
  • Capital project review, management and reporting.
  • Partnering with operational stakeholders to identify and implement cost and operational improvement opportunities.

To succeed and thrive in this fixed term contract, you will have tertiary level qualifications in a related discipline and demonstrated experience in providing commercial and business partnering support in an operational mining environment.

Additionally, you will also have:
  • A strong knowledge of key business drivers and analysis
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering financial and commercial information and concepts to non-financial operational stakeholders.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, software and system skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, TM1 and SAP
  • Working knowledge of SAP and TM1 and associated processes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and be proactive in a complex environment with strict timelines
