Operations near and far

Our Cadia site is located in Central West New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy. Have access to the area's wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, recreation activities, transport and other services such as childcare.

Who we are looking for

As an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Electrical Technician, you will safely maintain all areas of the critical control framework and ensure the assets within the Cadia Fixed Plant and ancillary infrastructure are maintained allowing the mine to achieve or exceed safety and production targets.

Reporting to the Supervisor - Fixed Plant Electrical, you will ensure that all electrical installations are maintained to the relevant Australian Standards providing a safe workplace for all employees.

Other key deliverables of the role include:
  • Actively promote and embed Major Hazard, Critical control safety practices into the work team, seek continuous improvement and develop a strong safety culture
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on fixed plant
  • Maintain constant awareness of current production and maintenance schedules and plans
  • Identification and documentation of potential equipment enhancements within our maintenance fixed plant
  • Implementation of fixed plant continuous improvement strategies and projects
  • Ensure all plant and equipment faults are reported, documented and managed

You will be a hands-on and results-driven qualified Electrician with the natural ability to multitask and problem-solve. Through your commitment to workplace health and safety, you will ensure that all electrical work complies to the safety and environmental statutory requirements and company policies and procedures.

In addition to the above, the below skill set will set you up for success:
  • Electrical Trade Certificate, NSW Electrical Supervisor Licence (or equivalent), CPR & LV Rescue
  • Previous experience in industrial processing preferably in the metalliferous mining or heavy industry
  • Experience in Process Control, Instrumentation and High Voltage Switching is desirable
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • NSW Driver's licence

Please note: This is a fulltime permanent residential role based in Orange, NSW.
