HVAC and Building Services Intern

This position is based out of our office in Exton, PA, and reports to our Manager of HVAC & Building Services. It is responsible for following engineering procedures and standards. Your typical duties and essential functions that will include but not be limited to the preparation, design, modification, coordination, and/or review of the following. It is assumed the candidate will be learning these functions and is not required to have the capability to perform any of these functions initially. 

As a HVAC and Building Services Intern in SNC-Lavalin’s Engineering department, you will be a part of a team that works on fast paced technically complex design/build projects in the biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries.

                                                                                                                     

How will you contribute to the team?

• Assisting the HVAC engineers on projects by performing HVAC system design, building and equipment energy usage calculations, and equipment selections. 
• Working with electrical, plumbing and process piping projects in addition to HVAC projects.
• Developing skills to become familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Carrying out engineering activities in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment including electrical, HVAC, piping, and structural disciplines.
• Collaborating and people-oriented attitude towards clients and colleagues.

What will you contribute?

• Education level: Working on BS degree within 1-4 years, in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer & Software knowledge in AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel Required and Revit a plus.
• Able to work and communicate within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Ready to work on multiple concurrent projects and demonstrate problem solving skills.
