Key Accountabilities and Challenges

• Maintain HSE standards and ensure strict compliance within the process plant.
• Responsible the procurement function for site specific MRO, bulk commodities and capex. $1B annual spend.
• Drive a focused Category Management strategy creating a sustainable competitive advantage in every aspect of our global business through continuous improvement of our spend portfolio.
• Work closely with the BI/BA team to develop lead and lagging metrics that drive the organization.
• Enforce established strategies, policies, procedures, and drive the team to optimize the supply chain, creating a world-class  procurement group.
• Strict adherence to all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to procurement.
• Participate in the design and implementation of ERP (JDE) and system enhancements and foster a culture of process optimization.
• Lead negotiation efforts for major contracts and coach others on best practices to support the remainder of the supply portfolio.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets accordingly
• Track and advance annual goals and objectives, (including stretch targets) in coordination with corporate objectives, and manages performance.
• Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
• Control, report and reduce operational costs, and ensure cost consideration taken with all decisions.
• Implement FQM Way culture in the Control Room team - "Bolder, Smarter, Driven, Together."
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Education

Undergraduate degree in business, legal or other complimentary background a much

• MBA and/or advanced Supply Chain certifications are a plus

Experience

10-15 years progressive experience in mining specific procurement.Â

5-10 years of direct management experience in resources or other capital intensive industry

Language

Fluency in English is required and proficiency in Spanish highly regarded. A willingness to undertake language training, desirable.
