About the role

We are looking for a Warehouseperson to process incoming and outgoing parts for use onsite, pick and store material in compliance with established practices, help maintain supply stations/vending machines and work with other departments to help provide parts in an efficient manner. The work schedule is 8h days, Monday to Friday, with occasional shift-work to cover vacation.

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, and working in this unique role within the Iron Ore Company of Canada in Labrador City, you will be:
  • Working safely in accordance with Rio Tinto safety standards actively participating, and engaging in safety initiatives promoting our "Zero harm" safety culture;
  • Offloading/Loading trucks with a forklift;
  • Receiving, issuing, picking and placing of freight;
  • Scanning and replenishing supply stations;
  • Kitting material for planned work;
  • Working with other departments to provide needed material in an efficient manner;
  • Utilizing SAP and Microsoft Office programs for inventory processing.

Please note: Fly-in-fly-out arrangements are not available. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you'll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team;
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent;
  • Minimum of a valid Class 5 driver's license;
  • Five or more years' experience working in a warehouse environment;
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs;
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills.

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Proficiency with SAP or inventory management software
  • Experience operating diesel and electric forklifts;
  • College experience in a relevant field (i.e.: logistics, supply chain/procurement, business administration, etc.);
  • French language proficiency

Where you'll be working

The Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) is a leading Canadian producer of iron ore concentrate and iron ore pellets that serves customers worldwide. The company operates a mine, a concentrator and a pelletizing plant in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as port facilities in Sept-àŽles, Quebec. It also operates a 418 kilometer railroad that links the mine to the port.
