Summary
The person in this position will work on challenging and progressive projects involving field activities, data collection, and problem-solving in the civil and geotechnical engineering practices. Primary responsibilities include geotechnical investigation and construction oversight, instrumentation installation, instrumentation monitoring, and the preparation of technical and design documents. Additional responsibilities may include surveying and the development of construction specifications and drawings. The work may involve long hours and out-of-town assignments.

Minimum Qualifications
- Two-year technical certificate or experience/coursework directly related to the job responsibilities described above
- 5 years of relevant experience working with civil and geotechnical engineers
- Geotechnical instrumentation installation, monitoring, and data interpretation experience
- Construction observation experience
- Construction materials testing experience
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or willingness to learn
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with project team members in a high-energy work environment that encourages self-initiative
- Flexible working style as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
- Willingness and ability to work out of town periodically
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 50 pounds or more
- Proven task or project management skills
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
- Acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical emphasis
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification, or ability to obtain within one year
- Approximately 15 years of experience working on projects directly related to job responsibilities described above
- Geotechnical analysis and design skills
- Experience preparing construction documents
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Surveying experience
- gINT experience
