Reporting to the Mine Superintendent and working alongside the operations and technical teams, the Mine Dispatcher is responsible for facilitating the coordination of mining activities and ensuring appropriate utilization of mining equipment to meet overall production targets. The Mine Dispatcher is also responsible for ensuring reliable production data is captured and reported for production planning requirements by monitoring the fleet management system

Main Accountabilities

  • Serve as the central communication contact for mine production and safety
  • Capture, validate and record mine site data, shift and production reports
  • Facilitate scheduling and dispatching of personnel, equipment and service vehicles according to operational and maintenance requests and requirements
  • Receive, prepare and relay work orders, messages and information to and from work crews, supervisors and maintenance
  • Provide accurate information to ensure informed production decisions to facilitate decision-making for mine management and technical services
  • Track movements of personnel and equipment around the mine site


Main Qualifications

  • College Diploma in relevant discipline required
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience with Fleet Management Systems preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a mine environment, including heavy equipment operations and different types of mobile equipment preferred
  • Understanding of fleet management systems and operating software applications systems required
  • Computer proficieny required
