Summary
Join the team in our Salt Lake City office, where you will have an opportunity to lead and work on challenging projects in mineral and chemical processing. The person in this position will help lead multidisciplinary project teams involved with mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, and related engineering activities. Work may include feasibility studies, process testing and piloting, process design, project implementation, and plant startup/commissioning. This person will provide leadership and technical expertise in developing material and energy balance models, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, technical reports, equipment specifications, and capital and operating cost estimates.
This position requires a strong background and knowledge of mineral beneficiation and extractive metallurgical processes, including comminution, classification, gravity separation, flotation, hydrometallurgy, and pyrometallurgy. Knowledge and experience with pumping systems, slurry hydraulics, thickeners, material conveying, and tailings management systems is also important. Candidates must have experience with plant sampling and proper protocols, along with the ability to interpret and understand design drawings in order to make recommendations. This person will work on projects involving a variety of minerals, including nonferrous precious/base metals, industrial minerals, iron, coal, and oil sands. The work may require short-term, out-of-town work assignments.
