The Merian Project is located approximately 60 km south of Moengo in a largely undeveloped part of the country with the nearest permanent settlement, Langa Tabiki, approximately 17 km east from the Project site. Purpose
The Integrated Electronic Security Systems Specialist is responsible for the assessment, selection, implementation, service, and support of all electronic security systems at the Merian Mine Site. The position will ensure that all electronic security systems and future security projects are developed and installed through proper planning, focusing on quality control, and within time and budget
Essential Duties
Manages contractors in the installation of specialized electronic security systems.
Oversees and provides input into the Newmont Regional Standards for Electronic Security Systems.
Manages site electronic security infrastructure and access control systems.
Continuously research new technology and best practices in electronic security systems.
Provides input into the regional standardization of electronic security equipment and deployment practices.
Oversees the design and integration of electronic security systems.
Manages contracts for electronic security systems.
Manages the budget for electronic security systems on site.
Organizes and coordinates preventive maintenance of electronic security systems.
Manages relationships with other Newmont business groups and stakeholders, i.e. Supply Chain, I.T., and Operations etc.
Prepares reports and recommendations.
Develops work orders and purchase requests via SAP.
Prepares and/or reviews AFE's for new projects.
Administers the Security Electronic equipment storage, maintaining a minimum stock of parts on hand.
Administer all information related to the existent Security Electronic Systems (plans, manuals, software, drivers, quantity of equipment and distribution.
Evaluates continually and recommends the appropriate measures to optimize, implement or renovate the Security Electronic Systems to the Security Manager.
Organizes and directs training related to the operation of the Security Control Center.
Supports the preparation and implementation of procedures related to the Integrated Electronic Security System and the operation of the Security Control Center. The essential duties described above are the primary responsibilities of the position. The position also requires the performance of numerous other duties not specifically described as directed by the immediate supervisor.

Training & Experience
- Bachelor/University Degree
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a related field
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen to make sound decisions and recommendations.
- Previous report development, policy and procedure development work.
- Experience in working with Management Operating Systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills and oral and written communication skills required.
- Strong PC skills using office software including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint applications.
- Supervisory/Management experience
- General Site Induction, site mandatory training.
Working Conditions
- May require both domestic and international travel.
- Position requires 24x7 availability for emergency response.
- Position places exceptional demands on personal and professional time and resources. Therefore, the incumbent (Candidate/Applicant) must be self-motivated and have the ability to efficiently and effectively prioritize responsibilities and duties.
- Position requires a willingness to frequently operate in dangerous and severe environments including high altitude, tropical, desert, or inclement weather conditions.
