Essential Duties

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and performing predictive and preventive maintenance on underground and surface instrumentation equipment.
  • Responsible for compliance with OHSA, Corporate and PGM Environmental Regulations, Safety and Sustainability Standards.
  • Responsible to work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals both within the department and cross-department.
  • Must be highly motivated, organized and must be capable of decision-making.
  • Responsible for providing his/her own tools.
  • Assisting in other works areas may be required.


Training & Experience

  • Uncertified Instrumentation and Control Technician
  • General knowledge of compressors, pumps and hoisting plant including conveyance, ropes, loading stations and shaft work, rail equipment and hydraulic system such as rock braking system.
  • Knowledge of low and high voltage system (13.8/27.6 kV); all current legislation with respect to the electrical field; and of general instrumentation equipment.
  • Experienced working with PLC systems and programming of Wonderware operating system, underground communication system and fiber optic system maintenance.

  • High level of organizational skill.
  • Be technically competent
  • Willing to learn
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.
  • Must be able to read and use electrical drawings and work with minimum supervision and interact with other trades groups
