Reporting to the Supervisor, Water Operations, the Technician, Water Operations is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of water facility work, such as accurate sampling, laboratory analysis, and interpretation of results in order to advise process changes. We are currently hiring several contractor and permanent roles to fulfill staffing needs.

To be successful in this role we require someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who has strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision making abilities.

Responsibilities :

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Ensure compliance with British Columbia legislation as it relates to mine water treatment facilities
• Monitor and control the water treatment facility to ensure performance objectives are achieved and reporting requirements are met
• Conduct sampling and support third party contractors on the collection, preparation, and delivery of samples to the laboratory, including hazardous waste
• Perform water chemistry analytical testing, laboratory testing, reagent preparation, as well as Quality Control testing
• Conduct process control adjustments based on computerized data and process set points
• Execute routine and non-routine operational activities as required, including start-up and shutdown, isolation or lock-out/tag-out, and draining, de-pressurization and flushing of isolated equipment

Qualifications :

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or Sciences, or an equivalent combination of training and water treatment experience
• Level I, II, or III Water or Wastewater Treatment certificate is an asset
• Strong mechanical understanding of process equipment
• Previous experience with Programmable Logic Controllers and Human Machine Interface systems is considered an asset
• Strong digital literacy and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite®; especially Excel
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent
