Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, Mine Operations, the Mine Operations Supervisor is responsible for the safe and productive operation of the operations crew. This position follows a 4x4 days and nights rotation.

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, who has demonstrated integrity and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. You have strong leadership skills and are able to empower others while positively contributing within a dynamic team environment. You have excellent attention to detail with a strong interest in continuous improvement. You are a motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task, adapt, and prioritize contending demands.

Responsibilities :

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Lead and empower employees in achieving operating targets and improve employee work performance and efficiency through mentorship and feedback
• Manage and optimize truck, shovel, drilling, and blasting functions to improve production and minimize operating costs
• Administer the collective agreement, safety, and mine and environmental regulations in a manner consistent with policies and procedures
• Understand mine plans and mine maintenance activities and collaborate closely with other shift supervisors, engineers, and maintenance personnel in coordinating mining activities in an efficient manner
• Participate in industrial relations and safety investigations

Qualifications :

• Minimum five years demonstrated ability leading operational activities in an open pit mining environment
• Possess a valid Open Pit Shift Boss certificate
• Exposure to the Wenco Dispatch System is considered an asset
