About the role

WesTrac are currently looking for a Technology Support and Implementation Supervisor based in the Newcastle / Hunter Valley Region of NSW.

The primary focus of this role is to supervise & coordinate the team of Technology Product Advisors and Technology Product Specialists during the implementation, delivery and training of the Caterpillar technology product range, and to provide the highest level technical support for customers and dealer personnel alike.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dedicated commitment to Safety & Quality Assurance
  • Managing and training the Technology Application and Product Specialists to reach, maintain and exceed WesTrac and Caterpillar performance levels
  • Short- and long-term project scheduling for the Technology and Solutions Team
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complicated customer / dealer technical issues

Skills & Experience

As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills:

  • Degree qualification in relevant Engineering or IT discipline coupled with extensive post qualification experience
  • Advanced trade qualification in Automotive Electrical / Mechanical or Electronics field with extensive post trade experience
  • Several years supervisory experience in a similar role, and several years within mining technology industry
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of:
    • Caterpillar MineStar products and their application
    • Radio based data networks
    • High precision GNSS systems
  • Advanced computer literacy skills – MS Office, internet based applications
  • Advanced communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
  • Advanced time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability manage multiple priorities to meet objectives
  • Highly developed attention to detail with the ability to analyse data and compile reports whilst providing suitable recommendations
  • High level of initiative and problem solving skills with the ability to follow through with required actions

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of WesTrac Technology product / service offerings
  • Experience on mine sites, including understanding of mining operations, safe work practices and electronic equipment installation procedures
  • Continuous Improvement qualifications (such as Six Sigma, Lean etc.)
  • Understanding of failure analysis principles and guidelines
  • Knowledge of DBS, SAP or similar workflow tools
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in high performing teams
