Regional Exploration Manager

An international explorer focused on growth through exploration is currently broadening their base in Africa by hiring a Regional Exploration Manager.

This individual will work on a looser roster due to the COVID restrictions but having placed a number of people internationally throughout the pandemic I am no stranger to what is required to still partake in expatriate opportunities.

The ideal individual that will take this Regional Exploration Manager role will be a strong mentor with a lean towards greenfields exploration in similar regions.

• A degree qualified geologist with proven discovery record
• A manager that is passionate for exploration and finding world class orebodies
• Have prior experience in a similar role of a similar level.
• Ideally this individual will have explored around operating mine-sites
• A leader that takes an active approach to developing national geologists using concise, coherent communication, direction, and the interpersonal skills needed to be a boots-on-the-ground manager when required.
• Occasionally you will need to be looking over the teams shoulders taking a key interest in active program management.
• Experience in regolith mapping, RC chip and core logging
• Effective communicator orally and written, and to all levels of stakeholders.
• Prior experience managing diverse teams, preferably in Africa
• Ideally a geological background, particularly structural geology
• A sound understanding of various deposit models and gold deposits
• Previous success in adding value to the business through technical and economic assessment of all types of explorations targets with a lean towards greenfields targets
• Minimum 10 years' experience in exploration geology across base and precious metals - if the individual has base metals experience they must also have precious metals experience
• Have a realistic approach to economic targets using economic models in exploration
• Leadership duties in Project Generation
• A Country Exploration Manager that can handle all parts of developing grassroots targets
