Tax Accountant I

Purpose

Contribute to the Peru tax function by supporting on accurate tax returns of the Company, Reviewing the correct application of current legal and tax regulations affecting the compliance function, and assisting with all the local tax audits.

Essential Duties

  • Review the main transactions with tax implications conducted by Accounting to Identify weaknesses, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide assistance to comply with Sunat's IDRs and other requirements raised during tax audits
  • Provide assistance on the monthly review of Purchase Register to require the support documentation of the main transactions and identify transactions that could be rejected by SUNAT on VAT monthly refunds. Weekly validation of information to be included on the Purchase Register.
  • Weekly review of the detractions and withholdings VAT system applicable to services and suppliers and validation of the report prepared by Accounts Payable to determine the amounts that must be paid to Sunat.
  • Monthly preparation and filing of the Benefit Program for Exporters ("Programa de Declaración de Beneficios - PDB del Exportador")
  • Prepare monthly tax electronic records (Purchase and Sales Records and other tax Books)
  • Provide assistance in the Annual tax return preparation, which involves analyzing the most significant entries of the Balance sheet and P&L statement in order to evaluate its tax treatment.
  • Provide Support on monthly preparation of the IT provision for IFRS purposes. It includes the following procedures and analysis
  • Provide support on the preparation and analysis of the tax depreciation for IT purposes based on IFRS depreciation that includes the following procedures and analysis
  • Provide assistance on the monthly analysis of the Intercompany charges (ICs): Assist with the coordination and completion of other tax compliance projects as assigned.


Training & Experience

Formal Education: University Degree in Accounting specialized in Taxation.
Knowledge of direct support: Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
Additional Knowledge: Courses on Finance and Taxation updates.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in similar jobs. Previous experience in an accounting firm is highly recommended
Work location: Lima
