Engineer 2 or 3 - Long Range Planning
Location: Stillwater Mine
POSITION SUMMARY: The successful candidate will assist in the development and implementation of practical mine plans which allow for orderly development and exploitation of economically minable ore reserves. The Long Range Planning Engineer will develop long-range mine plans including mine services, infrastructure, and production.

POSITION SUMMARY: The successful candidate will assist in the development and implementation of practical mine plans which allow for orderly development and exploitation of economically minable ore reserves. The Long Range Planning Engineer will develop long-range mine plans including mine services, infrastructure, and production.

- Collaborates with a team of six: includes mine planning engineers and a financial analyst
- Collaborate with team to produce plan data for budgeting purposes (OPEX and CAPEX)
- Generate mine designs, activity sequences, and schedules to incorporate into 25-Year Strategic Mine Plan, 10-Year Budget Mine Plan, Ore Reserve Economic Test Mine Plan (ORET)
- Ensure a seamless transition from mid and short-range 3-year mine plans.
- Conduct scenario analysis to identify optimal mine plan
- Generate practical mine designs in compliance with geotechnical and geological parameters
- Identify risks in the mine plan and develop mitigation plans
- Working knowledge of mine ventilation engineering
- Collaborate with all departments and engineering disciplines to integrate long-term mine infrastructure projects into the mine plan.
- Support the digital and automation efforts at the mine
- Reports to the Senior Long Range Mining Engineer
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Mining Engineering or related field
- A minimum of three (3) years as an Engineer III (or equivalent)
- Experience with exposure to a broad spectrum of practical and technical areas
- Mine design experience and the use of mine planning software
- Must be willing and able to work in a dynamic and changing environment
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Five to six years of underground mining experience preferred.
- Experience with Deswik Sched, Deswik CAD_UG, Power Pivot/Query/BI, Vulcan
- Working knowledge and understanding of narrow vein mine operations.
