Downer's Road business is one of the largest non-government owned road services business in Australia. We operate from a network of over 50 depots and maintain more than 30,000 km of road. Our business is involved in many exciting ventures within the civil road industry throughout the state.

We are now seeking expressions of interest for a hands-on Mechanical Workshop Team Leader to join our team in Wodonga. The key focus of this role is to undertake the maintenance and repairs of Downer owned plant used by the local Operations. The position provides technical expertise, allocates the necessary resources and adopts Downer Zero Harm principles to provide efficient service delivery and promote equipment availability.

This role is ideally suited to candidates with strong exposure across Heavy Vehicles, Road Transport or Road Building Plant.

About You

• Ideally, you will hold trade qualifications with at least 5 years exposure across Road Transport, Civil Construction, Mining or similar sectors
• Successful track record of workshop supervision with proven leadership and coaching skills
• Strong fault-finding skills and break down support
• Exposure scheduling maintenance over large geographically disperse areas
• Timely and quality decision making, working effectively under tight deadlines and pressure
• Computer literacy, with strong practical knowledge of Excel (Intermediate) & the MS Office suite, will be highly regarded.
