Specialist Drill & Blast - Open pit

We have partnered with a Tier 1 global Mining services business who is currently looking for a passionate Drill & Blast specialist to join their high-performing, collabortive team in WA. This is a family friendly 5/2 roster with occasional client site visits and overseas applicants are welcome to apply.

The role is ideal for someone who is looking to take on project ownership with full responsibility of managing and providing technical blasting expertise to various components of Open Pit projects for large Mid - Tier 1 multinational clients. This opportunity will be based out of the office in Perth and will require occasional site travel.

As the Specialist Open pit Drill and Blast you will be, but not limited to:

• Develop strategies to increase value of company's offerings through the execution of the products and applications.
• Applying knowledge and experience of use of lean tools and methods to improve safety performance on site by showing strong commitment and visible leadership to Management Standards and regulations.
• Take ownership and lead the technical components of the projects by determining the appropriate course of action, ensuring customer expectations are met.
• Aid in the establishment of explosive devices at customer sites ensuring the value of products are presented through the technology.
• Identify opportunities to implement improvement projects at key customer sites.
• Carry out projects managed by team members such as the Senior Consultant and Manager from start and planning through to completion. This would include report writing and issuing results.

You will be a good fit for this role if you have completed a tertiary qualification (in a related engineering or science discipline) and have 8 years related work experience OR if you are not tertiary qualified but have at least 12+ years experience. You will need to have well proven deep technical drill & blast engineering experience across blast design and blast optimization - preferably within a mining services/ consultancy environment but importantly on various sites and with various commodities.
