Senior Director - Legal Entity Rationalization ProjectThis position reports to the Senior Vice President, Finance and Corporate Controller, and is responsible for rationalizing the legal structure of SNC-Lavalin Group Inc.The role of Senior Director-Legal Entity Rationalization Project is to act as Project Manager for the rationalization of the legal structure of SNC-Lavalin Group Inc, by orderly close down of the dormant, and other surplus legal entities in the Group globally. Reporting to Senior Vice President, Finance and Corporate Controller the Senior Director-Legal Entity Rationalization Project will be a key member of the Corporate Controllers team.How will you contribute to the team?
  • Working with multi-function teams of in-house specialists from Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal and HR to identify surplus entities, categorize them;
  • Undertaking due diligence on surplus legal entities be able to identify a low cost but orderly plan to eliminate them from the Group structure;
  • Work with and manage Global and Country specific external advisors in devising and implementing the closure plans;
  • Understand widely varying compliance regimes from different countries for the dissolution of entities and communicate this internally;
  • Liaise with and secure the approval of the Corporate Entity Review Committee in Group head office on approval of closures;
  • Manage a database of due diligence information;
  • Report monthly to SVP Finance/Corporate Controller on project progress and future scope;
  • Prepare a Quarterly reporting dashboard for SVP Finance/Corporate Controller for the Board Audit Committee;
  • Manage and report on an annual Budget for legal entity rationalization external consultants and related costs;
What will you contribute?
  • Professional designation of CPA (CPA-CA would be an asset);
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience;
  • Have a recognized Financial/Legal/CoSec or Tax qualification;
  • MBA or Masters of Tax is a good asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership skills in development and execution of strategic objectives and priorities
  • Demonstrate success working within a multi-location and multi-lingual environment;
  • Team player with strong leadership, delegation and management skills;
  • Occasional travel to office locations across the globe.
