Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting Business Intelligence Intern. Due to anticipated needs, we are currently recruiting for career oriented individual to fill this role.

Rotation schedule will be an even rotation

Reporting to the Team Lead Business Improvement and Intelligence, the Business Intelligence Intern is accountable for working with the on-site business improvement team to expand the data systems that support business analytics efforts such as the data lake and PowerBI reports.

Responsibilities:

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Work with the BI Team and internal customers to understand business problems and assist in developing and executing solutions through data
• Extract and consolidate data from various data sources and entities
• Develop PowerBI and PowerApps applications to report and record data from various processes across the site
• Develop jobs to move, aggregate, and calculate data among various servers
• Support the development of database tables to support new data sources
• Create system monitoring analytics and metrics
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Rising Sophomore or higher pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Science, or related field is required
• General exposure to at least one of: DAX, M, SQL, Python, or other programming language; and able to quickly learn one or more of the languages listed
• General exposure to SQL and accessing database structures for database systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or Microsoft Access is preferred
• Familiar with Sequel Server Management Studio and creating and maintaining SSIS jobs
• Abilities in PowerBI and PowerApps, or demonstrated ability to learn these quickly
• Strong interpersonal communication, written and verbal skills
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a team environment and work effectively across all levels of the business
• Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint, applications
