The Oil Sands Teamworkswithinboth Mineable and in Situ technologies and project development. This intermediate rolewill report to the Global Director of Oil Sands & Oil Shale Projects. You have strong technical skills, and are business oriented witha strong entrepreneurial attitude to develop business plans and programs to support existing and future clients. Hatch is a global company and responsibilities include supporting and providing solutions primarily but not limited to Canada, Australia, South Africa and South America.

Job Responsibilities

• Create a specific Mineable Oil Sands business plan to serve the industry with growth short to midterm projection and implement it
• Create and implement solutions for the Oil Sands industry: In collaboration with other team members, provide advice to management and stakeholders, recommend a course of action for required technical solutions in the following areas: Mineable Oil Sands, Extraction Optimization, Froth treatment optimization and tailings minimization and management.
• Actively engage with clients. Communicate recommendations, liaise with team members, review progress, demonstrate interim work results
• Respond to business and project priorities and negotiate scope, budget and timing for business and the development teams
• Lead engineering teams working in the Oil Sands industry
• Support organizational change

Skills / Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Engineering
• Professional Engineering Registration in Canada
• 10+ years of experience in the Oil Sands Industry
• Business oriented first combined with strong technical experience
• Experience in the EPC/EPCM industry and/or Experience in the E&P industry in Operations
• Proactive and manager-doer attitude
• Understanding of the Oil & Gas Industry with strong emphasis in the Oil Sands Industry
• Understanding of the Process to produce DilBit and SCO from OilSands
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and excellent inter-personal skills
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours as part of a global team and to travel if required

Nice to Have

• Engineering & Design Experience
• Commissioning in Mineable Oil Sands Plants
• Operations in Oil Sands Plants
