Position Description:

Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Dispatch Technician to join the NGM Dispatching team.

The Dispatch Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing dispatch equipment. Other responsibilities will consist of helping with Dispatch WIFI systems, maintaining Dispatch cameras and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing repairs in a timely manner
  • Plan, and execute procedures for installation dispatch equipment
  • Communicate effectively with contractors and all other personnel
  • Maintain overview of parts needed
  • Keep down time for dispatch equipment at a minimum to help up production
  • Service and return parts when needed
  • Provide primary coverage will be CHOP Open Pit
  • Opposite schedule from GSOP to cover GSOP emergencies
  • Work with GSOP on larger projects at either GSOP or CHOP depending on priorities


Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience electrical experience in open pit mining preferred
  • Experience with maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems required
  • Ability to read electrical blue prints and utilize test equipment required
  • General knowledge working with radio frequencies mainly 2.4ghz, 5.8ghzpreferred
  • Ability to utilize basic hand tools required
  • Broad knowledge of computer operating systems, Windows, Linux, Unix preferred
  • Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions preferred
  • Proven safety record required
  • Excellent attendance record required
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, team-oriented and work with minimum supervision preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management required
  • Highly motivated and action-oriented preferred
  • Responsible for safely and neatly performing installations and maintenance of dispatch systems required
  • Maintain dispatching equipment for Barrick Nevada required
  • Satisfactory safety, performance, and attendance required

About Nevada Gold Mines

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.
