HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO

Did you like to play with trucks when you were a kid?  How would like to drive one in a quarry? Be a Heavy Equipment Operator! This position will work 2^nd shift and will be responsible for the operation of mining equipment and/or for operating quarry equipment.

• Operate quarry mobile equipment, including, but not limited to: Haul Trucks, Loaders, Water Truck, Crushers, Bulldozers, Grader, Excavator, Forklifts, Skid Steer, Backhoe, Pick-Up Truck, Fast Lab & Handheld quality analyzer
• Utilize hand tools including: Fast lab and Handheld XRF, Hand tools, jack hammers, shovels.
• Perform a daily walk-around equipment inspection and fill out inspection form pre- and post-shift
• Report unsafe conditions
• Report accidents or incidents immediately
• Drive and promote a culture of safety and a safe work environment
• Operate the haul truck to transport rock products from plant to stockpile as directed
• Utilize equipment in a manner to maximize productivity and minimize wear and down time
• Work in all areas of the plant as needed
• Recognize contaminated material and report unusual conditions to supervisor
• Load a variety of materials to meet legal load limits
• Fuel, lube, and service and operate off highway mobile equipment
• Ability to assist and work in all areas of the plant as needed.
• Work second shift.
• Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
• Ability to work scheduled overtime as required, including weekends
• Other job duties requested by supervision including housekeeping in all areas of the Quarry

 
HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or general education (GED)
• Prior experience operating mobile equipment.
• Prefer two years of heavy equipment experience
• Aggregate production experience.
• Highly dependable, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Open-pit mining operations and aggregate products experience is a plus
• Ability to safely operate and follow all equipment listed above to manufacturer and Lehigh Hanson standards.
• Ability to utilize hand tools necessary for performing quality testing, clean-up, belt skirting changes, belt scraper adjustments and screen changes.
• Communicate clearly and precisely with supervision and co-workers both orally and in writing.
• MSHA Part 48 training is a plus
• Complies with all state, federal and local guidelines
• Physical Requirements:  sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in the same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, dusty environments, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment, depth perception and normal/corrected vision, ability to walk on and work on uneven ground.
