Job Summary

This role is responsible for assessing, developing, tracking, delivering & measuring a competency based technical and operator-based training program for the company.

Essential Functions

•To develop, deliver, track & measure technical and operator training activities for a mine site.

•Ensures training conforms to standard operating procedures (SOP) and meets all internal and external requirements, including but not limited to MSHA. Develop standards where they don't exist

•Engages with main stakeholders in a productive and collaborative manner

•Answers queries and handles request related to mine-maintenance operations and training which includes problem solving and judgment. Escalates issues requiring knowledge about the broader business impact of decisions.

•Prepares reports and completes documentation related to all technical training for the mine.

•Maintains documents for the department, such as all training records

•Analyzes and interprets information such as safety regulations, training needs, and task observation.

•Receives updated training and stays current on the latest methods of equipment operations.

•Standardizes SOPs where applicable, works with department supervisors and recommends changes if necessary

•Advises mine management of needed adjustments in the operation of mine-maintenance equipment to promote safety, production, and increased availability through training

•Prepares communication materials, manuals, and other written materials related to technical issues, programs, or systems.

•Effective communication skills required.

•Punctuality and regular attendance required.

•Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements

•Minimum of high school diploma, Bachelor's degree preferred, or technical certifications

•Minimum of 10 years training in work force skill assessment, curriculum development, various methods of training delivery, competency-based training development and delivery, and evaluation methodology

•Experience developing a mine training plan and calendar

•Experience managing vendors, or third-party training as required

•Understanding of MSHA training requirements - Blue Card holder preference

•General knowledge of all mining processes with a specialization in at least two main areas of mining, i.e., Process Ops, Process Maintenance, Surface Maintenance, Surface Ops, E&I etc.

•Minimum 10 years of leading a team, demonstrated leadership abilities & strategic focus

•Experience in training measurement methodology

•Instructional design & curriculum development experience

•Past experience in implementing a LMS (learning management system)

•Must have a strong skill set with C., utilizing work processing, spreadsheet, dispatch, word, outlook explorer, Excel, and Ellipse.

•Mu st have strong training, verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive sk

•The ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, management, vendors and/or contractor

•Ability to work independently and as a member of the tea

•D emonstrates strong administrative, organizational, and technical writing skills

•Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheet

•Requires valid driver's license.
