Located approximately 26 miles from the City of Fairbanks, Fort Knox is a centre of excellence for the Company as one of the few cold weather heap leach facilities in the world. In 2016, the site poured its seven millionth ounce of gold, 20 years into its mine life. The initial Gilmore Expansion Project is expected to extend mine life to 2030.

Provide non-technical general labor and equipment operation support for the department. Perform grounds / facility maintenance, small equipment / machine checks and repairs, snow removal and general cleanup. Will operate small equipment such as 5 ton dump truck, skid-steers, forklifts and loaders.

Job Description
Provide non-technical general labor and equipment operation support for the department. Perform grounds / facility maintenance, small equipment / machine checks and repairs, snow removal and general cleanup. Will operate small equipment such as 5 ton dump truck, skid-steers, forklifts and loaders.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for building, site, and shop cleanup, including snow removal.
- Assist electricians in carrying parts and tools and materials to and from the worksites.
- Perform equipment walk around, inspect and operate equipment, and properly dispose of wastes.
- Punctuality and regular attendance is required.
- Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to, safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
- Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the state.
- Work safely in all areas, identify potential safety hazards, and work with management to correct hazards.
- Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
- Perform other duties as required.
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
- Experience in building, site, and shop maintenance and cleanup preferred.
- Experience operating small equipment such as forklifts, skid-steers, and loaders is preferred.
- Ability to work without constant, direct supervision.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Involves lifting and moving various materials in weights up to 50 or more pounds, climbing up and down stairs, and working in an outside environment.
- Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions required.
- Must have solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Must be available for shift work, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
