About this role

What will you be responsible for?
Support Supply Chain goals and objectives by partnering with internal customers to drive and define requirements in order to meet the needs of the company in terms of total cost, quality, service and delivery. Manage and lead sourcing strategies and activities in Newmont's corporate office in support of Corporate Groups in need of outside services and goods (ex. S&ER, Human Resources, Technical Services, Project Services, Project Studies) in order to improve the value derived from indirect spend and meet user's needs. Provide mentorship, training, education and governance to internal customers on Newmont's Supply Chain commercial contracting and Procure-to-Pay processes and procedures.

Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
  • We conduct contracts management and contracts administration activities in support of Newmont Corporate and global partners by negotiating, preparing, finalizing, administrating and leading contracts on their behalf.
  • We lead sourcing and contracting activities in support of establishing appropriate master agreements relating to Professional Services, Technical Services, Project Services, Early Stage Studies and S&ER spend.
  • We review, update and execute the Corporate Spend Portfolio and Global Spend Portfolio for sourcing opportunities / upcoming sourcing events.
  • We pro-actively handle strategic sourcing and contract planning activities to ensure end-users are getting the best value based on business needs and total cost of ownership.
  • We build strong, value-adding relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional departments.
  • We ensure contracts align with domestic and foreign tax language, legal, and insurance requirements and coordinate changes with representatives of these departments.
  • We conduct post award contract administration and management in terms of preparing and executing change orders, work orders, amendments, correspondence / communications, contractor compliance, and contract close out requirements.
  • We partner with internal customers to ensure Newmont Procurement Standards are understood, deployed, while compliance is tracked and actioned/ escalated when needed.
  • We document, communicate and govern and train internal customers in the use of processes and tools (SAP suite of sourcing, contracting and supplier teamwork tools); continually refining processes and tools and encouraging the adoption of standard methodologies.
  • We support and proactively drive the company's safety culture by ensuring all suppliers align with the appropriate standards and regulations.
  • We action and respond to periodic audit requirements.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Management is required.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years' experience in sourcing and contracts administration/management.
  • C.P.M. or C.P.S.M. designation preferred.
  • Experience in oil & gas; mining; environmental and/or engineering industries preferred.
  • Experience with sourcing professional services.
  • Extensive knowledge of strategic sourcing, negotiations.
  • Experience with contracts administration and management for services and goods.
  • Strong analytical (including financial) abilities.
  • SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to influence others.


Working conditions and location

Where you will be located!
  • The position is located in Newmont's Corporate Headquarters; periodic travel will be required.


The salary range offered for this role is $ 75,680 to 99,330 . The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
