Our client, a high profile global consulting engineering firm with a strong focus on the mining and minerals industry with a solid, 4-5 year project pipeline, requires a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to support their tailings dam design practice in Ontario and Quebec.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with regional, national and international geotechnical and mining specialists to manage mining, geotechnical and multidisciplinary engineering projects and teams, including management of resources, budgets and schedules.
  • Provide senior review and engineering analysis, design and reporting for mining projects: tailings dams, water management system, waste rock piles, open pits, etc.
  • Supervise design and analytical functions including stability, seepage, bearing capacity and settlement analyses
  • Perform Dam Safety Inspections/Dam Safety Reviews, Dam Safety Evaluations, Risk Assessments
Skills and Experience
  • 20 years' experience in tailings dam design and related mine-site earthworks infrastructure.
  • Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geological Engineering degree + P.Eng designation
  • Track record of successfully managing multiple mining and/or construction related projects simultaneously
  • A combination of site and consulting experience
  • Fluently bilingual (French & English)
