We are looking for a Specialist: Operations Training to manage the operations training processes and systems of Engineering, Mobile Equipment, Process and SHEQ in compliance with relevant legislation and codes of practice.

This role is also the Skills Development Facilitator for the business and as such acts as the link between the company and the SETA in terms of the planning and reporting of skills development initiatives across skills levels and in line with transformational goals and targets as set by RBM.

Reporting to the Manager Training and Capability Development, Energy and Minerals Atlantic and working in a collaborative community within the Human Resource team, you will be:
  • Set training process targets in compliance with relevant codes of practice.
  • Plan training course content requirements and development.
  • Ensure that appropriate programs are designed and implemented.
  • Facilitate all skills development processes as the Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) for RBM.
  • Develop guidelines and systems for implementation of policies, procedures and codes of practice.
  • Finalize the annual training plan.
  • Develop and cascade key performance indicators (KPI's) for subordinates.
  • Ensure that KPI's are set for indirect reports.
  • Evaluate applications for external technical training to make recommendations of who should attend the training by incorporating technical knowledge, and knowledge of SPP and SLP.
  • Manage and control the activities, standards of performance and behavior of designated subordinate staff.

What you'll bring

  • ODEDTP Training Officers certificate - Occupational Directed Education & Development Training Practitioner (NQF level 5)
  • B Degree in Engineering or related field or Human Resources (advantageous)
  • Qualified Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) (advantageous)
  • Registered MQA Assessor & Moderator
  • EB driver's license
  • 5 years within a training department in a heavy industrial environment
