We require a high-performing HSE Administrator based from our Penrose depot in Auckland. In this busy and varied role, you'll be a key member of the team supporting our health and safety team with administrative support and coordination.

About the role
Supporting our Regional HSE Manager and HSE Advisors, supporting the safety, quality and environmental culture in Downer New Zealand. Your day to day tasks will include:
  • Incident and injury documentation management, database tracking and analysis.
  • Management of Q-Pulse, quality database system.
  • Site HSE Verification audits, managing data integrity, corrective action management, statistical analysis, application of champion support to the region.
  • Document Review - Supporting HSE Advisors with the review and updating of local HSE documentation including hazard registers, depot management plans, depot HSE verification audits etc.
  • Reporting - providing dashboard information to Regional Managers and Regional General Manager on a monthly basis and assisting with report preparation for customers.


About you

Your highly organised, confident and friendly approach alongside your excellent attention to detail would be key to your success in this role. You will have a can-do, solutions focused attitude and a continuous improvement mind-set. You'll couple this with:
  • Experience providing high quality administration support in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional tone, manner and style.
  • Strong technical abilities in Microsoft Office suite (Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel).
  • Analytic skills and reporting statistics capability.
  • Understanding of privacy law and confidentiality.
  • A Full Class 1 licence.


It would be beneficial (however not essential) for you to have experience in Occupational H&S Administration, knowledge of ACC Accredited Employer Programme and AS/NZS Standards and experience working in a Construction or Infrastructure Environment.
