Role Details
Gold Fields- St Ives is currently seeking Operator: Dewatering to join their Open Pits Dewatering team in the Surface Mining Department.
Reporting to the Supervisor: Dewatering, you will be responsible for assisting the Surface Mining team to excavate the required material by safely and efficiently dewatering their Open Pit mines.
This role is offered on a 4 days on 4 nights on 6 days off roster and would require the incumbent to be residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie. Bus transportation is offered to and from site daily, and relocation assistance will be offered to the successful candidate if required.

Key responsibilities will include;
- Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times.
- Install/ move/ remove poly pipelines, diesel pumping systems, and associated plant (valving/control) for open cut mining operations
- Meet maintenance budget targets by scheduled inspections, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repairs
- Providing accurate dewatering knowledge and practical application to minimize down time and potential loss of production
- Maintain a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures. Ensure procedures are adhered to when carrying out all tasks, assisting colleagues to do the same
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout workshops and other areas to ensure a safe work environment and effectively manage risks
- Demonstrate full compliance with the OHS and Environmental Management System standards by assisting with the implementation and participating in initiatives, regular meetings, investigations and training. Participating in and contributing to audits in the maintenance and production facilities
Key factors to your success include;
- Completion of secondary education - Year 10
- Ability to gain HR' Class Driver's License
- Trade qualification (Desirable)
- Certificate (PMBWELD301B) Butt welding of pipelines and piping components in accordance with the Australian Guidelines (Desirable)
- Integrated Tool Handler Qualifications/Experience (Desirable)
