ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Under the supervision of the Human Resources Superintendent, the Human Resources Coordinator will structure, maintain and enhance the organization's Human Resources to support the Meliadine Mine. The incumbent will supervise the team, evaluate, develop, plan and implement structure into the department. He / she will ensure goals and objectives are attained, while respecting Agnico Eagle's company culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Supervise, mentor, motivate and lead staff;
  • Participate in Human Resources activities;
  • Support and plan the work of the team in order to achieve the Human Resources operational goals established for the site;
  • Support the organization in a rapidly changing operational environment;
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, combined with a Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources;
  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Experience in an industrial setting or heavy industry (mining experience is an asset);
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of work in Aboriginal communities is an asset;
  • Excellent leadership skills;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 7 days of work, followed by 7 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
